Assam: Sri Sri Batadrava Than Parichalana Samiti Requests Rescheduling of Rahul Gandhi’s Visit
Guwahati, 21st January: The Sri Sri Batadrava Than Parichalana Samiti has penned a letter to Batadrava Than MLA, Sibamoni Bora, urging Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to consider rescheduling his visit to Sri Sri Batadrava Than, the birthplace of Mahapurush Srimanta Sankardeva.
In an emergency meeting held on January 21, 2024, the committee extended a warm welcome to Rahul Gandhi but highlighted logistical challenges due to the simultaneous inauguration of a Ram temple in Ayodhya on the same day. The letter emphasized potential crowding at both locations and proposed a rescheduling of Rahul Gandhi’s visit to Sri Sri Batadrava Than after 3 pm.
Originally scheduled for January 22, 2024, between 8 am and 9 am, the visit’s timing was adjusted to ensure a seamless flow of activities and accommodate the dynamic circumstances surrounding the Thana premises. The committee, led by Jogendra Narayan Dev Mahanta, President of the Sri Sri Batadrava Than Parichalana, has communicated the revised schedule to MLA Sibamoni Bora and expressed a cooperative approach to manage the events scheduled for January 22, 2024.
