Rahul Gandhi Addresses Public Concerns During Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra in Nagaon
Guwahati, 21st January: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, speaking at the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra in Nagaon on January 21, emphasized the need to address critical public issues. He took aim at the media, criticizing its focus on celebrities instead of vital concerns like unemployment, rising prices, and farmers’ struggles.
Gandhi accused the BJP of controlling the media in Assam, alleging a lack of coverage on pertinent issues while highlighting Bollywood and cricket. During the 4000 km journey from Kashmir to Kanyakumari, he expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support from the people of Assam, despite facing threats and assaults.
Acknowledging the energy and support from the locals, Gandhi pledged to listen to their problems, including farmers’ issues, youth struggles, and unemployment. He criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi for neglecting farmers and suggested undue influence from certain industrialists.
Taking a swipe at the government’s handling of conflicts, Gandhi blamed the BJP for the ongoing violence in Manipur. He asserted that had Congress been in power, swift action would have been taken to stop the violence within three days.
Addressing the nation’s capability to curb violence, Gandhi pledged to fight for people’s issues across the country. He highlighted efforts in Manipur and expressed commitment to fostering brotherhood and love in Assam, Arunachal, Bengal, Maharashtra, and beyond.
In closing, Gandhi expressed gratitude to the people of Assam for their warmth and support, promising to represent their concerns in Delhi and advocate for them in Parliament.
