Assam CM Applauds Interim Budget, Citing Achievements and Transformative Measures
Guwahati, 1st February: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma lauded the Interim Budget 2024-2025 on February 1, terming it evidence of exceptional governance over the past decade.
Expressing immense pride in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, Sarma credited it for delivering historic accomplishments surpassing cumulative achievements of the past.
He emphasized the budget’s pivotal role in steering the nation towards a developed India, highlighting key announcements, including a Rs 75,000 crore interest-free loan to State Governments for implementing welfare schemes.
The proposed Rs 11 lakh crore capital expenditure and support for 3 crore ‘Lakhpati Didis’ were praised for creating growth-enabling assets and transforming the rural landscape.
Sarma commended the budget’s alignment with PM Modi’s vision, particularly the Rs 1 lakh crore allocation for research and innovation, showcasing fiscal prudence amid global challenges.
