Guwahati Gears Up for PM Modi’s Visit and Mega Projects Launch
Guwahati, 3rd February: As Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Assam approaches on February 3 and 4, Guwahati is buzzing with preparations. Stringent security measures are in place across the state in anticipation of the significant event.
Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to address a massive public rally and inaugurate multiple projects worth crores at the Veterinary College Field, Khanapara in Guwahati on February 4. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma expressed his anticipation for the visit, acknowledging the Prime Minister’s unwavering support and emphasizing the unprecedented growth under Modi’s guidance.
The Chief Minister extended a warm welcome to Prime Minister Modi, highlighting the Prime Minister’s deep affection for Assam. The visit is expected to mark a new era of development for the state.
Key Projects to be Launched:
- Maa Kamakhya Divyalok Pariyojana: An ambitious project with an estimated cost of Rs 498 crore.
- Widening of Road connecting Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport: Critical infrastructure upgrade with an investment of Rs 358 crore.
- Upgradation of 43 roads under Asom Mala 2.0: Includes the construction of 38 bridges, with a total budget of Rs 3,444 crore.
- Upgradation of Nehru Stadium into a FIFA Standard Football Stadium: Major sports infrastructure project with an investment of Rs 831 crore.
- Chandrapur Stadium: A project worth Rs 300 crore aimed at boosting sports facilities.
- Infrastructure Development of Guwahati Medical College and Hospital: An investment of Rs 3,250 crore to enhance healthcare facilities.
- Karimganj Medical College: A medical infrastructure project with a budget of Rs 578 crore.
- Unity Mall Development: An investment of Rs 297 crore for the development of commercial and recreational spaces.
As the state awaits the Prime Minister’s visit, these projects are poised to contribute significantly to Assam’s growth and development.
