Manipur Police Dispatches Senior Officer to Assess Scuffle at Assam Police Academy
Northeast Desk, 4th February: The Manipur Police has deployed IPS officer M. Pradip Singh to Assam to investigate and understand the reasons behind a scuffle among trainees from Manipur at the Lachit Barphukan Police Academy in Dergaon. The announcement was made on Manipur Police’s X handle, stating, “A senior officer from Manipur police, M. Pradip Singh, IPS, is being deputed tomorrow to Dergaon to take stock of the situation. The matter is being monitored by Manipur Police on a real-time basis, and the situation is under control.”
The incident occurred on February 3 when a disagreement over dinner distribution led to a scuffle among Manipuri trainees at the police academy. Assam DGP GP Singh shared details on X, confirming that the altercation happened during the evening, and it was successfully resolved. The Range Inspector General of Police (IGP) and the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Training provided necessary support and guidance to the trainees to settle the matter amicably.
