Northeast Desk, 6th February: Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma of Meghalaya led a significant ceremony at the State Convention Centre in Shillong, where he distributed appointment letters to 346 Lower Primary (LP) School Teachers. Beyond a mere formality, the event served as an opportunity to articulate the government’s vision for educational advancement in the state.
Taking to social media, CM Sangma underscored the importance of the occasion, stating, “Investment in Human Capital is the biggest investment we can make for the future of our state.” The appointment of qualified teachers reflects the government’s commitment to enhancing education and securing the future of Meghalaya’s children.
Addressing the newly appointed educators, Chief Minister Sangma emphasized their pivotal role in shaping the destiny of the state through education. He highlighted the significance of investing in human capital to unlock Meghalaya’s full potential and productivity.
Education Minister Rakkam A Sangma echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the noble nature of the teaching profession. He urged the teachers to serve with dedication, cautioning against practices that may compromise the quality of education, such as proxy teaching.
In addition to the distribution of appointment letters, the event marked the launch of the Jadui Pitara, a Teaching Learning Materials Kit designed for preschoolers. This initiative aims to provide approximately 35,000 children with essential educational resources, including activity sheets, flashcards, and game boards, to enrich their learning experience.
The recruitment of LP School Teachers and the introduction of the Jadui Pitara signify the government’s renewed focus on education, particularly in rural areas. By bolstering the teaching workforce and enhancing early education initiatives, Meghalaya strives to elevate student performance and improve educational outcomes across the state.
