Assam Rifles Seize Massive Cache of Explosives in Mizoram

Northeast Desk, 7th February: Vigilante troops of Assam Rifles on February 5 conducted a successful operation, seizing a significant cache of explosives and detonators along the Sangau Pankhua road in Lawgtlai district of Mizoram. The operation was initiated after establishing a Mobile Vehicle Check Post (MVCP) based on specific intelligence.

During the interception at the MVCP, a Bolero vehicle occupied by two individuals was detained. Upon inspection, authorities confiscated 150 kilograms of explosives, 1800 detonators, and more than 3 kilometers of Cordex.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Siama Thanga (50) and Amengi (40), both residents of Sentetifang Lawngtlai district. According to sources, the explosives were intended for resistance forces across the border to use against the Myanmar Army.

The police have taken custody of the detained individuals and the seized items, further investigations are underway into the matter.
