Assam: Eviction Drive Clears Illegal Encroachment in Jagiroad

Guwahati, 7th February: The Nagaon administration on February 7 conducted an eviction drive near the defunct paper mill, clearing several areas of illegal encroachment in Jagiroad.

At least 20 families were evicted from the encroached areas, and bulldozers were employed to dismantle the houses and structures constructed by these families.

The ongoing eviction drive aims to reclaim the land from unauthorized occupation, with security forces deployed to prevent any untoward incidents.

As of now, the operation has proceeded smoothly, with no adverse incidents reported from the area. The administration remains vigilant to ensure the successful completion of the eviction drive.
