Guwahati, 8th February: Minister of Water Resources, Pijush Hazarika, has unveiled ambitious plans to construct an embankment cum road with sluice gates in Jonai, Dhemaji, signaling a significant step in fortifying Assam against recurrent floods and improving rural connectivity. The announcement, made through his social media channels on February 8, underscores the state government’s unwavering commitment to addressing the persistent challenge of flooding in the region.
Minister Hazarika emphasized the dual objectives of the project, emphasizing its crucial role in not only mitigating the impact of floods but also in strengthening rural infrastructure.
