Sports Desk, 10th February: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) made a significant announcement on February 10, revealing India’s squad for the final three Tests of the IDFC First Bank series against England. Rohit Sharma has been entrusted with the captaincy role, while Jasprit Bumrah will serve as vice-captain. The squad features a mix of seasoned players and promising newcomers, setting the stage for an intriguing showdown on the cricketing front.

Among the familiar faces in the squad are Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, and R Ashwin, who bring a wealth of experience and talent to the team. Additionally, fresh additions like Sarfaraz Khan and Rajat Patidar are eager to showcase their skills on the international stage, adding depth and dynamism to the lineup.

However, the absence of Virat Kohli persists, with the BCCI confirming that he will continue to be unavailable for selection for the remaining series due to personal reasons. The board has reiterated its unwavering support for Kohli’s decision, emphasizing the importance of prioritizing his well-being above all else.

The inclusion of Ravindra Jadeja and KL Rahul in the squad is subject to receiving fitness clearance from the BCCI medical team, introducing an element of uncertainty regarding their participation in the upcoming matches.

The upcoming Tests are slated to kick off on February 15, 2024, in Rajkot, followed by the fourth Test in Ranchi commencing on February 23, 2024. The series will reach its climax with the fifth and final Test scheduled to be held in Dharamsala from March 07, 2024.
