Assam: Digboi Man Missing from Arunachal Pradesh Hotel; Family Seeks Assistance

Guwahati, 10th February: A man from Digboi, Tinsukia district, has gone missing from the “Old Hotel 65KM” in Hunli, Arunachal Pradesh, since February 4, 2024.

The missing individual is identified as Debojit Das, son of Pradeep Kumar Das, residing in Anandapara, Digboi town.

Debojit traveled to Etalin village on January 31, 2024, under the supervision of Amit Dey from Golai Number 1, Digboi, to oversee the sound system for the Reh Festival scheduled for February 1, 2, and 3.

After completing their tasks, the team returned to Roing on February 3 but found themselves stranded in Hunli due to road closures caused by heavy rainfall and snowfall. They decided to spend the night at the “Old Hotel 65KM.”

The following morning, Amit, the team’s supervisor, discovered that Debojit Das was missing from the room since 7 a.m. His phone was turned off, adding to their concerns.

A missing case was filed at the Roing police station, but no significant leads have emerged in locating him.

In a plea for assistance, Snigdha Das, Debojit’s sister, reached out to Union Minister Kiren Rijiju, Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu, and Arunachal Pradesh DGP via social media platform ‘X’.
