Journalist Nikhil Wagle Allegedly Attacked by BJP Workers in Pune

National Desk, 10th February: Journalist Nikhil Wagle on Friday, February 9 was reportedly attacked by BJP workers while en route to an event in Pune.

Videos capturing the incident depict BJP workers damaging the vehicle’s windscreen and side panels, in addition to hurling ink at the car. The altercation escalated briefly between Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) workers and BJP activists before police intervention.

Despite the attack, Wagle addressed the event attendees, expressing forgiveness towards his assailants and advocating for support towards MVA in the forthcoming Maharashtra elections. Earlier, BJP leader Sunil Deodhar had filed a case against Wagle for allegedly making derogatory remarks against the PM and Advani.

In response to the incident, NCP faction leader Supriya Sule condemned the attack on Wagle and raised concerns about the law and order situation in Maharashtra. The BJP workers were reportedly protesting Wagle’s comments concerning PM Narendra Modi and LK Advani following the latter’s Bharat Ratna award.
