Guwahati, 10th February: A 15-year-old girl was reportedly abducted by an unidentified miscreant from the Six Mile locality in the city, as per reports on February 5, 2024.
According to the victim’s mother, the minor was en route to purchase household items when she was forcefully taken by the miscreant.
Speaking to the media on Saturday, the distressed mother revealed that three days after the abduction, her daughter managed to make a distress call to her husband’s mobile phone. In the call, she disclosed being kidnapped by a man and two women who are allegedly engaging in immoral activities and restricting her movements. The victim stated that she is being confined to a flat near the Lalmati area. However, the number from which she made the call is currently switched off.
Authorities have taken immediate action, and a case has been registered at the Dispur police station in connection with the incident. The search for the abducted girl and the perpetrators responsible for her abduction is underway, with efforts focused on ensuring her safe return and bringing the culprits to justice.
