Chief Minister N Biren Singh Addresses Crisis in Manipur at Project Buniyaad Launch

Northeast Desk, 12th February: During the launch of “Project Buniyaad-Aathmanirbharta ka Aadhar” at Classic Grande Imphal East, Chief Minister N Biren Singh addressed the ongoing crisis in Manipur, emphasizing that today’s hardships are paving the way for a brighter tomorrow.

The project, initiated by the Honda India Foundation (HIF), aims to empower Manipur’s youth by offering skill development and employment opportunities in the hospitality sector.

As the chief guest at the function, N Biren Singh expressed gratitude to HIF for supporting the youth during challenging times. He highlighted the significance of such initiatives, underscoring his personal commitment to attending the launch of Project Buniyaad.

Singh emphasized that the current crisis represents a struggle for existence, survival, and identity. He acknowledged the historical threats faced by the state’s land and identity, reassuring that the present government is dedicated to safeguarding the state’s integrity and securing a brighter future for the next generation.

Expressing appreciation for the Government of India’s measures such as scrapping the Free Movement Regime and implementing the Inner Line Permit System, Singh stressed their role in preventing illegal activities and the influx of illegal immigrants.

Furthermore, N Biren Singh suggested that HIF prioritize crisis-affected students and extend its outreach to remote areas and hill districts while selecting participants for the project.

Vinay Dhingra, Trustee of Honda India Foundation, highlighted the collaboration between HIF, Manipur State Rural Livelihood Mission, and Visan Foundation for Project Buniyaad. He outlined the project’s goal of providing employment to unemployed youth from marginalized sections of society, emphasizing the alignment with Honda Foundation’s long-term mission of societal contribution.

Dhingra expressed pride in launching the project, stating that education and skill development are integral to inclusivity and align with their vision of becoming a company that society values. He announced the project’s aim to train 1000 youth from Manipur over three years and provide them with job opportunities.
