Marijuana worth Rs 1.736 cr Seized by Assam Rifles in Tripura

Guwahati, 15th February: Assam Rifles on February 14 intercepted a massive drug haul in Tripura, seizing a staggering 434 kgs of Marijuana valued at Rs 1.736 crores.

The operation unfolded in the General Area Churaibari, falling under the jurisdiction of Churaibari Police Station in North Tripura District.

Acting on credible intelligence, a collaborative effort was launched between Assam Rifles and Churaibari Police Station to execute the operation.

Upon inspection, the illicit drugs were discovered concealed within compartments of a truck, leading to the immediate detention of the suspected drug peddler operating the vehicle.

Subsequently, the confiscated narcotics and the apprehended suspect were handed over to Churaibari Police Station for further investigation and subsequent legal proceedings.
