Guwahati: Third student goes missing in Noonmati area
Guwahati, 15th February: In yet another alarming development, a third student has gone missing in the vicinity of Noonmati area in Guwahati. 19-year-old Arun Kumar, hailing from Bapuji Nagar 2 in Noonmati, is the latest individual to join the growing list of recent cases involving student disappearances.
The distressing situation escalated with the disappearance of Arana Hussain, a 15-year-old student from the same locality, on Saraswati Puja. Concerned, her family lodged a complaint with the Noonmati police station, prompting authorities to register a case under Section 366 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The family suspects the involvement of a young man named Samin Ali in Arana’s disappearance.
This incident follows closely on the heels of two other student disappearances, namely Madhusmita Baishya and Bandita Bhowmik, also from Noonmati. However, a surprising turn of events occurred when the two missing girls, Madhusmita and Bandita, made contact with their families today. They revealed that they had voluntarily left their homes, citing familial challenges and expressing distrust in both police and media assistance.
