Pawan Chamling Vows to Uphold Integrity and Safeguard Sikkim’s Interests

Northeast Desk, 15th February: In a stirring address at a program in Makha on February 15, Pawan Chamling, the chief of the Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF), pledged to uphold honesty and safeguard the interests of Sikkim. Chamling’s impassioned speech resonated with the core values of the SDF, emphasizing the party’s unwavering commitment to the welfare of the Sikkimese people.

“I swear upon my mother that I will not speak lies. We must save Sikkim, and we are here to do just that,” declared Chamling, underlining the party’s dedication to honesty and integrity.

Highlighting the SDF’s ideology, Chamling reiterated the party’s firm stance on protecting Sikkim’s sovereignty and championing the rights of its people. “We will never compromise with the Sikkimese interest; this is our ideological stem, and that’s why SDF is the Sikkimese people’s party,” he affirmed.

Acknowledging past governance shortcomings, Chamling expressed remorse but assured the public of rectification. “We have done wrong, and we are apologetic, but we will not repeat those mistakes. We have the experience and the determination to set things right,” he stated emphatically.

Emphasizing the SDF’s pro-poor policies, Chamling outlined the party’s commitment to fulfilling the basic needs of the people. He pledged to prioritize quality education in the next government, ensuring exemplary primary education. Additionally, health services would receive heightened attention, with a focus on both therapeutic and preventive measures. Chamling vowed to make free medicine and streamlined medical aid grants readily accessible without the need for recommendations, building on initiatives initiated and systematized by the SDF.
