Nagaland: Assam Rifles Apprehends NSCN-K(ISAK) Cadre in Zunhebhoto; Illegal Weapons Seized

Northeast Desl, 18th February: In a significant operation, Assam Rifles, on February 15, apprehended a cadre belonging to the armed militant group National Socialist Council of Nagaland (NSCN-K ISAK). The operation, conducted in the general area of Zunhebhoto, Nagaland, yielded a substantial cache of arms and ammunition, along with other incriminating objects.

Based on actionable intelligence, a specialized team from Assam Rifles launched a meticulous search operation, resulting in the successful apprehension of the NSCN cadre, identified as H Hotop Aye. Alongside the arrest, the operation led to the confiscation of various illegal weapons, ammunition, as well as stamps, seals, and extortion slips linked to the insurgent group.

Furthermore, a thorough search uncovered a trove of documents, including bank passbooks, ATM cards, numerous PAN cards, cheque books, and letter pads bearing the insignia of NSCN-K Isak. The recovery of these materials underscores the extent of the militant group’s operations and sheds light on their financial and organizational infrastructure.

The apprehension of the NSCN-K(ISAK) cadre and the seizure of arms and incriminating documents represent a significant blow to the activities of the insurgent group in the region. Assam Rifles remains steadfast in its commitment to ensuring peace and security in the region, with operations like these aimed at curbing the influence of militant outfits and maintaining law and order.
