Assam: Woman drug peddler arrested in Dhubri

Guwahati, 18th February: In a concerning development, a section of women has been identified as being involved in drug trafficking in various parts of Assam. Despite the Assam Police’s intensified drive against drugs, some individuals, including women, have resorted to selling drugs, posing a threat to the younger generation and the community at large.

In response to this alarming trend, the Assam Police conducted a raid in Dhubri, targeting individuals involved in drug trafficking.

During the operation, one woman was apprehended by the police. The arrested woman was found in possession of 16 drug-laden containers, indicating her involvement in illicit drug activities.

The woman, identified as Bahtan Nessa, resides in Vidyapara with her husband, Tamsher Ali.

It is reported that the couple has been engaged in drug trafficking for an extended period. However, during the raid, Bahtan Nessa’s husband, Tamsher Ali, managed to evade arrest and escape.

Additionally, another individual named Bahtan Nessak was arrested based on complaints filed by village guards and locals.

This concerted effort by the Assam Police reflects their commitment to combating drug trafficking and ensuring the safety and well-being of the community.
