Assam: HSLC Candidate in Faints During Exam, Succumbs at Hospital Later

Guwahati, 19th February: In a tragic incident, a candidate appearing in the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) examinations in Assam died due to unidentified health conditions.

The deceased girl, identified as Ananya Baruah, reportedly fainted during the examinations on the first day of the HSLC exam, which started on February 16 (Friday).

After fainting, she was immediately admitted to the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) on the same day. Despite undergoing treatment at GMCH for three days, Ananya passed away on Sunday night.

The exact cause of Ananya’s death is yet to be ascertained.

Ananya, a resident of Sipajahar in Darrang district, was a student of the Sipajhar B. J Girls’ High School. Her untimely death has cast a pall of gloom over the entire area, leaving the community in mourning.
