Guwahati, 19th February: In a shocking turn of events, a man from Assam endured severe injuries after being assaulted by unidentified perpetrators on Monday.
Preliminary details suggest that the victim, a resident of Golaghat district in Assam, was first drugged and then robbed while he was unconscious aboard a moving train.
Following the vicious attack, the injured man was callously thrown off the train by the assailants in Madhya Pradesh’s Sambalpur.
The victim, identified as Dipanta Phukan according to sources, was discovered in a critical condition by locals, who promptly admitted him to a nearby hospital and alerted the authorities about the incident.
Reports indicate that Dipanta, who had left his home in search of employment in Mumbai on February 14, fell victim to this horrifying ordeal.
Efforts are currently underway to transport him back to Guwahati by train, as per reliable sources.
