Arunachal: Itanagar Municipal Corporation (IMC) Prepares for Prime Minister’s Visit
Northeast Desk, 4th March: Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s scheduled visit to the state on March 9th, the Itanagar Municipal Corporation (IMC) has intensified its efforts to enhance sanitation and infrastructure in the capital city. Mayor Tamme Phassang urged residents to actively participate in maintaining cleanliness and discipline, emphasizing IMC’s commitment to ensuring a garbage-free environment.
Despite certain areas lying outside IMC’s official jurisdiction, such as Chimpu and the Airport zone of Holongi, the corporation has taken on the responsibility of sanitation and hygiene in these regions. Mayor Phassang lauded the tireless efforts of IMC’s machinery, working day and night to uphold cleanliness standards.
In a recent initiative, Mayor Phassang, along with corporators, inaugurated road improvements at Yawn Colony in G Sector Naharlagun, showcasing IMC’s dedication to enhancing city infrastructure. He also highlighted ongoing developmental projects, including a significant investment towards a school in Ward No. 16.
Expressing gratitude to the BJP high command for awarding party tickets to two sitting MPs, Mayor Phassang emphasized the importance of electing BJP representatives to support Prime Minister Modi’s initiatives. Corporator Tarh Achak highlighted collaborative efforts between IMC and the Public Works Department (PWD) in initiating infrastructural projects.
IMC’s new Deputy Commissioner, IAS Shweta Nagarkoti, urged the corporation to intensify cleanliness drives ahead of the Prime Minister’s visit. In response, IMC mobilized its machinery for a comprehensive garbage-free clean drive across the city.
Corporator Tarh Achak reaffirmed the support of all 20 corporators towards the BJP candidate, emphasizing their collective commitment to elect BJP MLAs from Itanagar. With Prime Minister Modi’s impending visit, IMC and its constituents are dedicated to ensuring a warm and welcoming atmosphere by maintaining cleanliness and sanitation citywide.
