Guwahati, 5th March: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on March 5th unveiled a series of welfare initiatives totaling Rs 150 crore in Bongaigaon. These initiatives aim to bolster cultural and educational infrastructure in the region, enriching the lives of its residents and fostering overall development.
A highlight of the launch was the inauguration of a new auditorium equipped with modern amenities. With a seating capacity of 1000, the auditorium is poised to become a prominent venue for cultural, educational, and community events. It promises to provide a platform for artists and performers while enhancing the cultural vibrancy of Bongaigaon.
In addition to the auditorium, the Chief Minister announced plans to establish a B.Ed college in Bongaigaon. This initiative aims to advance education by offering aspiring educators access to quality training and certification within the region. By providing local opportunities for professional development, the college is set to contribute significantly to the educational landscape of Bongaigaon.
Furthermore, Sarma emphasized the importance of preserving religious and cultural heritage sites. As part of the welfare works, the government committed to constructing a boundary wall around Abhayapuri’s Ganesh Mandir. This initiative, costing Rs 3 crore, underscores the government’s commitment to safeguarding and maintaining cultural landmarks for the benefit of the community.
