Nepal: Seven killed, 30 injured in road accident in Dhading District
National Desk, 6th March: In a tragic incident on Wednesday, a passenger bus plunged into Trishuli River in Nepal’s Dhading district, resulting in seven fatalities and leaving 30 others injured. The bus, traveling to Kathmandu, veered off a highway before falling into the river.
Rescue teams have recovered five bodies from the scene, while two individuals succumbed to their injuries en route to medical facilities. Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives and instructed authorities to ensure effective rescue operations and proper medical treatment for the injured.
The bus driver, identified as Hariram Harijan, has been taken into police custody for further investigation. Common causes of accidents in the country include challenging terrains, poor road conditions, vehicle issues, and overloading.
