Delhi Police Official Suspended After Video Surfaces of Assault on Muslim Men
National Desk, 8th March: A Delhi police official has been suspended following a disturbing video that surfaced, depicting him kicking and hitting Muslim men who were offering Friday prayers on a road in the city’s Inderlok area.
The incident arose due to overcrowding at a local mosque, forcing several men to pray on the road. The video of the police official’s actions triggered widespread outrage and condemnation.
Congress Rajya Sabha MP Imran Pratapgarhi shared the video, calling on Delhi Police to take swift and appropriate action against the official involved.
“This Delhi Police soldier kicking a person while offering namaz probably does not understand the basic principles of humanity. What is this hatred that is filled in the heart of this soldier? Delhi Police is requested to file a case against this official under appropriate sections and terminate his service,” he stated.
In response, Deputy Commissioner of Police (north) MK Meena announced the immediate suspension of the official and initiated an inquiry into the matter. The police have urged the public to maintain peace amidst the ongoing investigation.
