Sikkim CM Prem Singh Tamang inaugurates Pedestrian Subways, Foot Over Bridge at Namchi district

Northeast Desk, 9th March: Chief Minister Mr. Prem Singh Tamang today unveiled the Non-Motorized Transport and Walkability project, including pedestrian subways and a foot overbridge, under the Namchi Smart City Limited (NSCL), Government of Sikkim.

Accompanied by Mr. Sanjeet Kharel, Minister for the Building and Housing Department, along with advisors, chairpersons, Ms. Annapurna Alley, DC Namchi, Dr. T. N. Gyatsho, Sr SP(Namchi), and heads of departments from various line departments, the Chief Minister graced the inauguration ceremony.

This newly constructed foot-over bridge spans 27 meters, while the footpath’s length extends to 42 meters. Designed to enhance pedestrian mobility and safety, the project aims to facilitate convenient travel for the residents of Namchi.

The people of Namchi have expressed their deep appreciation to the Chief Minister for this initiative, recognizing its significance in improving accessibility and enhancing the city’s infrastructure.
