PM Modi Asserts Accelerated Development in Northeast, Takes Swipe at Congress
Northeast Desk, 9th March: Addressing a public meeting in Arunachal Pradesh’s Itanagar after unveiling development projects worth Rs 55,600 crore in the region, Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized the accelerated pace of development under his government compared to the Congress.
Modi stated that the kind of work accomplished by his administration in the last five years in the Northeast would have taken the Congress 20 years to achieve.
“The Northeast is poised to become a strong link in India’s trade, tourism, and other relations with South Asia and East Asia. Today, projects worth over Rs 55,000 crore have been unveiled here,” he remarked.
Highlighting the contrast in timelines, Modi asserted, “Congress would have taken 20 years to do what we have done in the last five years in the Northeast.”
Modi also underscored the tangible results of his government’s initiatives, referring to it as “Modi’s guarantee.” He invited observers to visit Arunachal Pradesh to witness firsthand the impact of this guarantee.
“The entire Northeast is watching how Modi’s guarantee is working,” he affirmed.
Furthermore, Modi addressed the criticism from leaders of the opposition bloc, stating that while he is dedicated to the nation’s development, opposition leaders are targeting him.
