Union Home Minister Amit Shah to Embark on Assam Visit Ahead of Lok Sabha Polls
Guwahati, 11th March: Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to visit Assam on March 14, as announced by State BJP President Bhabesh Kalita. Shah’s itinerary includes participation in party meetings, addressing public gatherings, and conducting poll rallies in key districts.
During his visit, Shah will hold poll rallies in Margherita (Tinsukia district) and Nazira (Sivasagar) on March 14, engaging with constituents and rallying support for the BJP’s electoral campaign. Additionally, he will address a townhall program in Guwahati on March 15, providing a platform for interaction with the public and discussing key issues.
Amidst the backdrop of escalating political activities, Kalita dismissed the presence of a united opposition forum in Assam. He highlighted the independent contestations of constituent parties like Trinamool Congress and Aam Aadmi Party, with the Congress yet to declare its candidates.
Expressing confidence in the BJP’s electoral prospects, Kalita projected victory in at least 11 seats in Assam, underlining the party’s strong footing and support base in the state.
Shah’s visit assumes significance as parties intensify their campaign efforts in the lead-up to the Lok Sabha polls, underscoring the importance of Assam in shaping the political landscape of the country.
