Assam Congress President Bhupen Borah Summoned by CID for Third Time over violation of rules during Nyay Yatra
Guwahati, 11th March: Bhupen Kumar Borah, the Assam State Congress president, has been summoned for the third time by the CID in connection with alleged violations during Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra in Guwahati on January 23, according to sources.
Borah has been directed to appear before the CID office on March 12 regarding the case. He was previously summoned by the CID on March 7.

In response to the summons, Borah stated that he has prior commitments on the scheduled day, as it marks his father’s death anniversary and he has religious rituals to attend in the first half of the day. Additionally, he mentioned his participation in a meeting of the CEC later in the day.
Borah expressed willingness to cooperate with the CID, suggesting video conferencing as an alternative for answering questions. He emphasized his readiness to provide responses publicly, ensuring transparency in the process.
This marks the third instance of Borah being summoned by the CID in connection with the case.
