Assam: Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) Announces Candidates for Lok Sabha Elections

Guwahati, 11th March: The Assam ruling party Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ally, Asom Gana Parishad (AGP), has formally announced its list of candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, focusing on fielding strong contenders.

According to sources, Phanibhushan Choudhury will represent AGP from the Barpeta LS seat, while Zabed Islam will contest from the Dhubri LS constituency. Additionally, Raju Kumar Narzary will be the candidate from the Kokrajhar LS constituency, representing the United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL).

Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma stated that discussions regarding the candidates took place in New Delhi on February 29, as reported by media outlets.

Notably, the BJP will contest 11 out of 14 seats, allocating two seats to its ally AGP (Barpeta and Dhubri) and one seat to the United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) for Kokrajhar.
