Manipur Chief Minister Emphasizes Action Against Illicit Activities

Northeast Desk, 11th March: Manipur Chief Minister, N. Biren Singh, ensured that his administration’s actions were not against any specific community but against illicit activities. This includes illegal drug activities, unauthorized poppy cultivation, deforestation, and illegal entry into the state.

Chief Minister N. Biren Singh distributed welfare benefits at Hapta Kangjeibung organized by the Manipur Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board (MBOCWWB) under the Department of Skills, Labour, Employment & Entrepreneurship.

Addressing a large gathering, the Chief Minister expressed sadness at the recent crisis and assured that the government has taken steps to prevent such events from recurring. Deployment of state security personnel and the shift of Manipur Rifles and IRB battalions to foothill areas aim to restore normalcy.
