Assam Takes Historic Step in Semiconductor Revolution: CM Himanta Biswa Sarma
Guwahati, 13th March: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma declared March 13 as a historic day for the state, attributing it to Assam’s role in the semiconductor revolution, thanks to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for the northeast.
In a significant boost to the state’s industrial sector, Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually laid the foundation for Assam’s largest semiconductor unit in Morigaon on March 13.
CM Sarma hailed this initiative as a milestone that would attract investments worth Rs 27,000 crore and generate employment opportunities for 30,000 youths in Assam and neighboring regions. He expressed gratitude towards PM Modi for his ‘Ashta Lakshmi’ initiative and credited Tata Sons and its Managing Director N. Chandrasekaran for their bold step in overcoming geographical barriers.
“This is just the beginning, not the end,” CM Sarma affirmed, expressing confidence in Assam’s economic growth. He later conveyed his optimism about making history with the support of the people of Assam, noting that the state was experiencing a newfound sense of joy and optimism.
