Assam: Cancellation of Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s Visit
Guwahati, 13th March: Sources have indicated that Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s scheduled visit to Assam on March 14 has been cancelled. Originally planned to inaugurate the Bardowa project, Shah will no longer be visiting Assam at this time. The reasons for the cancellation have not yet been disclosed, but sources suggest that his visit will be rescheduled after the Lok Sabha elections.
Amit Shah’s visit was anticipated to include party meetings, public addresses, and rallies ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha polls. Scheduled events included rallies in Margherita and Nazira, as well as a townhall program in Guwahati on March 15.
Additionally, Shah was slated to inaugurate the Bardowa Project in Assam’s Nagaon district, aimed at developing Batadrava Than as a center for art, culture, and spiritualism. This project, valued at Rs 188 crore, encompasses the beautification of Batadrava Than over an area of 165 bigha.
While the specific reasons behind the cancellation remain undisclosed, the rescheduling of Amit Shah’s visit indicates a shift in the pre-election campaign activities in Assam.
