Meghalaya CM Conrad Sangma launches sports scholarship scheme in presence of John Abraham to boost local talents

Northeast Desk, 14th March: The Chief Minister of Meghalaya has announced the introduction of a new sports scholarship scheme aimed at nurturing local talents. This initiative is designed to offer financial assistance to promising athletes, enabling them to access better training and resources.

The Meghalaya Sports Scholarship Scheme, launched by the Chief Minister through his official handle, aims to recognize and support sports talent in the state. Under this scheme, athletes will receive monthly financial aid ranging from Rs. 6000 to Rs. 8000, depending on the medals won in various categories and tournaments.

This move underscores the government’s commitment to promoting sports and fitness in Meghalaya. By providing financial support to athletes, the government aims to foster a culture of excellence in athletics and encourage more participation in sports activities.

The Chief Minister expressed optimism that the sports scholarship scheme would inspire young talents to pursue their passion for sports.
