Sikkim: SKM Party Forms Parliamentary Committee as State Elections Approach

Northeast Desk, 17th March: The Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) party has established a Parliamentary Committee in preparation for the upcoming Sikkim Assembly elections and the 18th Lok Sabha elections.

Led by Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang, the SKM party has assembled a 9-member committee comprising Kunga Nima Lepcha, Arun Kumar Upreti, Sonam Lama, Bedu Singh Panth, Bhoj Raj Rai, Ran Bahadur Subba, Tila Devi Gurung, and Devi Maya Pradhan.

Meanwhile, the Election Commission of India has announced the schedule for the general election to the state legislative assembly of Sikkim, scheduled for April 19, 2024.

Reflecting on the achievements and expressing gratitude, Chief Minister Tamang took a moment to acknowledge the integral role of various stakeholders in the journey of the SKM-led government over the past five years.

Addressing the people of Sikkim, Chief Minister Tamang credited the trust and support bestowed upon his government for the remarkable progress achieved during their tenure. He extended appreciation to stakeholders, including the Governor, Cabinet Colleagues, MLAs, MPs, Advisors, Chairpersons, and other dignitaries.

Recognizing the collective efforts that have propelled governance in Sikkim, Tamang applauded the contributions of government officials, stakeholders, NGOs, societies, clubs, and various organizations. He emphasized their commitment, professionalism, and collaborative spirit, which have played a pivotal role in delivering transformative results for the state.
