Arunachal: Tapir Gao Criticizes China’s Objections and Highlights BJP’s Achievements in State

Northeast Desk, 17th March: Tapir Gao, the incumbent MP representing Arunachal East, has strongly criticized China’s objections to Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Arunachal Pradesh, asserting that the state welcomes dignitaries irrespective of China’s interference.

Addressing concerns about anti-incumbency in his candidacy for the Arunachal East Parliamentary constituency, Gao emphasized that within the 27 assembly constituencies of Arunachal East, there is no anti-incumbency except within the opposition ranks.

“In democracy, every individual has the right to contest or seek a party ticket irrespective of their party. In our BJP, many candidates seek a ticket, which is their right, and now that the party has given me the ticket, all BJP workers will support me unanimously,” stated the MP.

Gao also took a swipe at the previous Congress regime, attributing China’s encroachments in Upper Subansiri and Upper Siang to Congress’s negligence towards border security. He contrasted this with the significant infrastructural developments witnessed under the BJP-led government in Arunachal Pradesh, highlighting improvements in highways and other sectors.

Speaking at the inauguration of the Western Parliament office at the state BJP office in Itanagar, Gao emphasized the BJP government’s achievements in healthcare, education, water supply, electricity, and sports. The event, attended by Deputy CM Chowna Mein and other legislators, underscored the party’s commitment to furthering development in the region.
