Guwahati, 17th March: A senior Assam Police official has been charged with sexually molesting a teenage girl in a highly publicized incident.
Preliminary reports state that a 15-year-old girl who was employed as a domestic helper in the police department at the Police Training College in Dergaon has been accused of sexually abusing and being molested by a police officer, known as Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Kiran Nath.
Members of the victim girl’s family made these accusations. As per the reported accusations, the girl has been subjected to long-term sexual abuse in addition to physical assault by the DSP.
The event allegedly came to light after the girl ran away to her house and told her family what had happened. The girl’s relatives filed a complaint against Nath on Saturday at the Dergaon Police Station in relation to this.
On the other hand, the accused Nath’s wife prevented them from filing a case, which caused chaos inside the police station. The prompt intervention of the police allowed the situation to be brought under control.
According to sources, a FIR has been filed requesting justice and harsh punishment for the offenders.
