Assam minister Pijush Hazarika: Congress is zero with no clear ideology in the present time

Guwahati, 18th March: Assam Minister Pijush Hazarika delivered a scathing critique of the Congress, asserting that the party has lost its ideological footing. Speaking at a mass joining program in Jorhat, Hazarika witnessed former Congress leader Rana Goswami’s defection to the BJP alongside over 2000 Congress workers. This significant move unfolded in the presence of state BJP president Bhabesh Kalita and Minister Pijush Hazarika himself.

Addressing the gathering, Hazarika highlighted the symbolic shift from Congress to BJP, emphasizing the BJP’s commitment to both new and seasoned leaders. He cited the longstanding presence of leaders like Bhabesh Kalita, Tapan Gogoi, Hemanta Kalita, Santanu Pujari, and Kamakhya within the BJP ranks as evidence of the party’s inclusivity and unity in serving the state and the nation.

Regarding the upcoming elections, Hazarika downplayed their significance for the BJP, stating that the party’s primary focus remains on serving the nation. He pointed to national media reports predicting a landslide victory of over 400 seats for the BJP in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections as a testament to the party’s widespread appeal and popularity.

Hazarika criticized the Congress for its internal strife and lack of clear leadership and ideology. He suggested that the Congress has forged alliances with the BJP to address these shortcomings but ultimately concluded that the Congress currently wields little political influence.
