Indian Navy’s Remotely Piloted Aircraft Crashes During Training Sortie in Kochi

National Desk, 19th March: A remotely piloted aircraft (RPA) belonging to the Indian Navy crashed during a training sortie in Kochi on Monday. The incident took place around 5 pm at the INS Garuda base, where the RPA descended approximately one mile short of the runway.

The Navy responded swiftly to the crash, confirming that there were no injuries or damage to property reported. Despite the mishap, no individuals were harmed during the incident.

In a brief statement, the Navy acknowledged the crash and assured that a specialist team was immediately dispatched to the crash site to secure the area and the wreckage of the RPA. Furthermore, an inquiry has been launched to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.

“The incident occurred at about 5 PM when one Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA)/ Searcher, engaged in a routine training sortie at INS Garuda, Kochi, crashed approximately one mile short of the runway,” the Navy’s statement read.
