Assam: Rhino charges at tourist vehicle in Manas National Park for second time in a week

Guwahati, 20th March: A rhinoceros at Manas National Park, a renowned world heritage site in Assam, has attacked a tourist vehicle, marking the second such incident within a week. The alarming encounter was captured on camera by a tourist present in the vehicle as the rhino charged from a considerable distance.

The group of tourists, fortunate to escape unharmed, credits the quick thinking and alertness of their driver for their safety. The incident unfolded in the Banhbari range of the national park, underscoring the unpredictable nature of wildlife encounters.

This recent incident echoes a similar terrifying event that occurred earlier in the week within the same park. A giant rhino charged at another tourist vehicle along the Mathanguri-Banhbari road, once again putting the lives of passengers in jeopardy.

The incident serves as a stark reminder of the inherent risks associated with wildlife tourism and the awe-inspiring power of nature. As tourists from the Bongaigaon oil refinery were enjoying a jeep safari in Manas National Park, they found themselves facing an unexpected and potentially dangerous situation as the massive rhinoceros charged towards their vehicle at high speed, causing a moment of sheer panic.
