NIA Apprehends Absconding Accused Linked to CPI (Maoist) Revival Conspiracy
National Desk, 21st March: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has successfully apprehended Vinod Mishra alias Binod Mishra, an absconding accused, in connection with a conspiracy to revive and strengthen the prohibited CPI (Maoist) organization in Magadh Zone, Bihar.
Mishra, who had been on the run for the past eight months, was named in the FIR related to this case and is believed to have played a significant role in aiding the CPI (Maoist) North Region Bureau Chief and Politburo member by providing them with shelter and logistical support at his residence.
This recent arrest comes on the heels of the NIA’s extensive crackdown on radicalization activities within the Bengaluru Prison Radicalisation case earlier this month.
The NIA conducted searches across seven states, targeting a total of 17 locations, as part of its ongoing investigation into the case.
Last year, in July, the Central Crime Branch (CCB) of the Bengaluru police had arrested five individuals suspected of being radicalized by T Nasser, a convict associated with the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), at the Parappana Agrahara Central Prison in the city. Subsequently, the NIA took over the case and made additional arrests.
In the latest phase of their investigation, the NIA conducted searches at six locations, including the residences of individuals such as Mohammad Umar Khan, Tanveer Ahmed, Mohammad Faisal Rabbani, and Mohammad Farooq, as part of their efforts to uncover and dismantle radicalization networks.
