Manipur Surpasses Nagaland in Medal Tally at 3rd North East Games 2024
Northeast Desk, 21st March: On the third day of the 3rd North East Games 2024, Manipur made a remarkable leap to overtake Nagaland in the medal tally, showcasing outstanding performances by its athletes.
Manipur’s athletes clinched a total of 49 medals, including an impressive haul of 20 Gold, 11 Silver, and 18 Bronze medals, propelling the state to the top position in the standings.
Nagaland, which led in the previous days, closely trailed behind with a total of 52 medals, comprising 19 Gold, 12 Silver, and 21 Bronze medals.
Meanwhile, Assam maintained a strong presence in the competition, securing a total of 50 medals, including 16 Gold, 21 Silver, and 13 Bronze medals.
As the competition intensifies, spectators are eagerly anticipating the outcome, with all eyes on Nagaland: will they reclaim their top spot, or will Manipur maintain its lead, or perhaps Assam will deliver a surprising upset?

Featuring competitions across fifteen disciplines, including Archery, Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, and more, the games are being held at various venues such as the IG Stadium in Kohima for Athletics, and NAPTC Niathu Resort in Chumoukedima and Tetso College for other disciplines.
