Sikkim: Citizen Action Party (CAP) Announces First List of Candidates for State Assembly Election
Northeast Desk, 22nd March: The Citizen Action Party (CAP) has unveiled its initial list of candidates for the upcoming assembly election.
In the inaugural phase, 14 candidates were officially declared today.
Sikkim comprises 32 assembly seats and one Lok Sabha constituency, and CAP has decided to contest the elections independently, without forming any alliances.
The candidates announced in the first phase are as follows:
- Hari Chandra Chettri – Namthang Rateypani
- Jigme Bhutia – Yuksom Tashiding
- Yangthang Phip – Dhoj Limboo
- Darmadin Pem – Dorjee Sherpa
- Zoom Salghari – Kaushal Lohagun
- Mahesh Rai – Namchi
- Severen Rai – Namcheybong
- Sumati Chettri – Khamdong
- Rabi Gurung – Upper Tadong
- Risckis Pradhan – Arithan
- Dawcho Lepcha – Gangtok
- Bhim Kumar Tamang – Upper Burtuk
- Jorbu Lepcha – Dzongu
- Tsampo Narchu Lepcha – Sangha
Meanwhile, the remaining 18 assembly seats, along with the Lok Sabha constituency, are scheduled to be announced before March 24, 2024.
