Tripura: CPIM Faces Setback as Over 600 Voters Join BJP Ahead of Lok Sabha Election

Northeast Desk, 22nd March: In a significant blow to the opposition CPIM ahead of the Lok Sabha election, more than 600 voters officially joined the BJP on Friday in Agartala, marking a shift in political allegiance.

Addressing the development, BJP state general secretary Amit Rakshit highlighted that the newly affiliated voters, primarily laborers representing diverse fields, made the decision after witnessing the tangible efforts of the current government and the BJP towards public welfare.

“Many of the voters who have now joined the BJP were previously associated with the CPIM. A total of 600 voters from 120 families have embraced the BJP. These individuals predominantly hail from laborer backgrounds spanning various sectors across the state. Having experienced CPIM governance, they have now observed the transformative governance under the BJP,” Rakshit asserted.

He elaborated that their decision to join the BJP stemmed from the tangible benefits they have experienced under the current government, negating the necessity for participation in rallies or protests. Rakshit emphasized the BJP’s inclusive approach, devoid of judgment based on political affiliations, focusing instead on comprehensive development and public welfare.

The mass migration of voters underscores a shifting political landscape, potentially reshaping the dynamics leading up to the forthcoming Lok Sabha election.
