BJP Forms Election Management Committee for Ramnagar Bypoll in Tripura

Northeast Desk, 23rd March: In preparation for the upcoming by-election in the 7-Ramnagar Assembly Constituency, the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Tripura has established a 13-member election management committee. Transport Minister Sushanta Chowdhury has been appointed as the committee’s head.

The BJP has also named Agartala Mayor Dipak Majumder as its candidate for the Ramnagar assembly bypolls, which were necessitated by the passing of veteran BJP MLA Surajit Dutta in December last year. The election is scheduled to be held on April 19.

According to an office order signed by BJP Pradesh President Rajib Bhattacharya, the election management committee will comprise Transport Minister Sushanta Chowdhury as the Convener and 12 Co-Conveners: Abhijit Moulick, Abhijit Deb, Tushar Kanti Bhattacharya, Samar Roy, Santosh Saha, Amal Choudhury, Devid Debbarma, Bhaswati Debbarma, Prithiraj Debbarma, Subha Rani Debbarma, Jasim Uddin, and Abhishek Datta.
