Guwahati, 23rd March: Guwahati was rocked by shocking revelations on Saturday as details of a rape case emerged, implicating a Meghalaya resident as the accused.
Reports suggest that a young woman was lured to a lodge in Guwahati under the guise of attending a birthday party, only to be subjected to a horrifying ordeal. Allegedly, she was drugged, confined to a room in the lodge, and sexually assaulted by the accused.
The distressing incident unfolded at Rajdhani Lodge in Guwahati, where the woman had been invited to celebrate the accused’s birthday. However, instead of festivities, she found herself in a nightmarish situation.
In her complaint, the victim recounted how the accused, identified as Parvez Ansari from Meghalaya, allegedly administered drugs to her before assaulting her. Shockingly, Ansari and the woman were reported to have been acquainted through their previous studies.
Promptly after the incident, the woman filed a complaint at the All Women Police Station in Panbazar, Guwahati, initiating legal action against the accused.
Law enforcement authorities have registered a case and commenced investigations into the matter, aiming to bring the perpetrator to justice and deliver closure to the victim and her family.
