Assam: BTC Chief Pramod Boro to File Defamation Suit Against Congress Over Alleged Fake Social Media Post

Guwahati, 29th March: Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) chief Pramod Boro from Assam is gearing up to file a defamation suit against the Congress party concerning an alleged fake social media post. The specifics of the purported post have not been disclosed yet.

Boro’s decision to pursue legal action stems from his strong disapproval of the alleged post, which he perceives as damaging to his reputation. However, the Congress party has yet to respond to these allegations.

Earlier, on March 27, United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) chief and CEM of Bodoland Territorial Council, Pramod Boro, lodged a complaint with the Election Commission against the Congress party. The complaint was prompted by the circulation of a photo on Twitter, purportedly linked to the Congress party, portraying a former UPPL member sleeping on a bed adorned with money.

Expressing his dismay at the incident, Boro criticized the Congress party for what he described as ‘irresponsible’ behavior. He highlighted their alleged failure to verify the authenticity of the photo before disseminating it, questioning their approach to politics at the national level.

“I am shocked at how irresponsible Congress and its leaders are,” Boro remarked. “They don’t even have time to check and verify whether it is real news or not, whether it is coming from some authentic sources or not. So how are they doing their politics at the national level? I am very surprised. So I condemn their behavior and attitude. I am going to file an FIR against them, and I have already complained to the Election Commission to take action against them…”

Boro’s actions underscore his commitment to protecting his reputation and holding accountable those responsible for spreading false information.
