Security Forces Conduct Extensive Search Operations in Manipur
Northeast Desk, 31st March: In a concerted effort to uphold law and order in Manipur, security forces recently carried out extensive search operations in the fringe and vulnerable areas of both hill and valley districts. These operations, aimed at curbing illegal activities, have resulted in significant recoveries, indicating ongoing efforts to maintain security in the region.
During the meticulous search operations conducted in Changoubung village, Kangpokpi district, security personnel made notable discoveries. Recovered items included a 9 mm country-made pistol along with a magazine, as well as a 7.65 mm pistol with its respective magazine. Additionally, authorities seized five live ammunition rounds, underscoring the seriousness of the situation in the area.
In tandem with the search operations, stringent security measures have been implemented to facilitate the smooth movement of essential items along key transportation routes. With 250 vehicles traversing NH-37 and 270 vehicles navigating NH-2 to transport vital supplies, security forces have maintained a vigilant presence to mitigate potential threats effectively.
To further fortify security measures, a total of 125 Nakas/Checkpoints have been strategically installed across various districts of Manipur, encompassing both hill and valley regions. These checkpoints serve as vital screening points to monitor and deter suspicious activities. In response to violations, law enforcement authorities have detained 356 individuals, reaffirming their commitment to upholding law and order in the state.
