Assam Pradesh Congress Committee Appeals for Financial Support Amidst Challenging Times
Guwahati, 2nd April: The President of the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC), Bhupen Borah, has issued a public plea for donations, citing the party’s precarious financial state. Speaking at an event in Pathshala, Borah acknowledged the tough circumstances faced by the APCC, stressing the urgent requirement for financial assistance.
“We are in need of donations due to our poor financial condition,” Borah stated to reporters. “If individuals donate to Bhupen Borah as the APCC President, I will gratefully accept.”
Highlighting the severity of the financial crisis, Borah revealed that 11 bank accounts belonging to the party had been frozen, with approximately 1100 crore rupees held in abeyance. He attributed this dire situation to alleged corruption within the Assam government, accusing the Chief Minister of misappropriating funds through a coal syndicate.
Addressing the challenges faced by the BJP’s adversaries, Borah questioned whether the ruling party would address the grievances of individuals like Ashok Sharma in Nalbari, hinting at a perceived lack of empathy from the incumbent government.
