Deadly Bee Swarm Strikes Devotees on Journey to Uttar Pradesh Temple

National Desk, 3rd April: One individual has been killed and 15 others have been injured following an assault by a swarm of bees on worshippers en route to the Pilua Mahavir temple in the Etawah district of Uttar Pradesh, as per police accounts.

The occurrence took place on Tuesday afternoon as a congregation of devotees, under the leadership of Radhe Shyam, were making their way to the temple in Jaswant Nagar, Etawah. The worshippers, accompanied by relatives and fellow villagers, were traveling in three tractors and two loaders towards their destination.

As they neared the area between the villages of Putna Sakrauli and Singhawali, a swarm of bees descended upon them. Panic ensued as the devotees scattered in an attempt to escape the relentless attack of the bees.

Tulsi Ram, aged 70 and a member of Radhe Shyam’s family, tragically succumbed to the attack. He collapsed to the ground after being overwhelmed by multiple bee stings. Several other devotees were also targeted by the swarm, sustaining multiple stings on their bodies.

The incident bears resemblance to a recent bee attack in Guna, Madhya Pradesh, where attendees at a wedding were similarly besieged by a swarm of bees, transforming the celebration into a nightmare. Videos depicting the terrifying incident emerged, underscoring the peril posed by such bee assaults.
